Frequent Install/Removal of MS VSPDI Engine on Azure VM

Hi MS,

We are seeing frequent instances of installation and removal events (events 11707, 11724) logged on few of our Azure VMs since 4 days now. The events pertain to the software product, Microsoft Visual Studio Production Diagnostics Instrumentation Engine (x64).

The removal event occurs in a gap of about 2 minutes of the one for installation.

VMs are in different roles, such as Application servers, Domain Controllers, etc. They all run Windows Server 2012 R2 version of OS.

We do not have MS Visual Studio installed on these VMs and so it is not clear why they are getting logged. Unable to dig into any relevant articles around peer groups, so submitting this question.

Could you help understand if this is related to Azure behavior or any other context?
What does this software do?
Why the installation and swift removal of the software?

All insights into this are welcome.

Thank you.

Best Regards,
Siva

I am also seeing this behavior on some of our Azure VMs. Was there any additional info on why this is happening ?

I am only seeing the installation of the package by the local system account.
