we are not able to sign microsoft document (word), office 2016

Since we got the update kb4493225 we are not able to sign Microsoft document, we got this message ( your signature could be added to the document. If your signature requires a smart card, ensure that your card reader is installed correctly.) i would like to know if somebody have a solution, or does exist something to explain the new way of signing document.

just to let you know, it is the same in office 2016, office 2019 or office 365, the same thing happened on a computer with no gpo, no domain, nothing, fresh install.

thanks for your help

Are you using Office Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro project signing?

Please check in this article "Upgrade signed Office VBA macro projects to V3 signature (KB5000676)".

I would suggest you refer to the steps mentioned in this article to upgrade signature, then ues a new signature to have a look.

Hope the information could be helpful.
