Hello @PedroGutierrez-8396,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A platform.

UPADTE (2/6/2021):

Unfortunately, you cannot upload Metadata to Azure Purview from files like excel.

Make sure the data is available in the Azure Purview supported data sources.

May I know, where does the metadata excel files are located?

Azure Purview supports metadata extraction from the supported data sources shown below.

Pradeep,

Thanks for your answer. We have a problem that we don't have access to the databases then we won't be able to explore the data dictionary to feed PurView. Then, we will need to ask the DBA's to dump the data dictionary in a csv or excel file that will contain the name of the tables and columns and the type of the columns; then we want to upload all the excel files into PurView. The location of the csv or excel files with the metadata could be stored in any reachable directory. The structure of all the csv or excel files will be like DBName, Table_name, Column_name, Column_type. Is this feasible? How?

Best Regards,

Pedro E. Gutierrez
