Tools or platform for software deployment in Win10

Dear All,

We are using on-premise domain to centrally manage local machines that were installed with Windows 10 OS. Domain users are configured without administrative rights, so they are not allowed to install or update software on their own.

Currently we deploy new Window Pro Edu 2004 or 20H2 version for domain users, they can install some software from Windows Store without admins right, and the software will be upgraded automatically, which is perfect. However, only a number of software could be found in store, most of other software requires IT admins to manually install and upgrade from them. This is really time-consuming and not efficient at all.

What we are looking for is some kind of tool or platform where users can install and upgrade software without admin rights by themselves. I tried Chocolatey (3rd party software) but it was not ideal for us, since the software sometimes needs to be configured with complicated PowerShell scripts. I also searched to build our own Store in Windows 10 but didn't know how to make it work.

Any suggestion or ideas would be highly welcome and appreciated. Thanks a lot for reading this.

I'm afraid that there are limitations in Windows Store where many of the common software not found for us:(
So MS store is not an option for us.

Hi

Here is an option: "Local Admin" group in AD - that group is added into the Administrators group on each applicable device
When a user needs the rights, add them to the AD group and get them to log off after installing the software.

Dear friend,

I'm sorry that adding any admins group is not an option for us, we can't risk giving users any admins right:(

Anyway, thanks for your comments. Now I'm studying the feasibility of using MS endpoint mgr which is to replace SCCM, it might be something we are looking for:)
