The deployment planner for Azure Site Recovery states that failback of a EFI boot VM from Azure to on-prem is not supported, however update rollup 42 states:

"Azure Site Recovery now supports test failover, failover & failback of VMware and Azure machines with UEFI layout"

Screenshot of the compatibility warning from the ASR deployment planner. The deployment planner used is the latest version:

So which is it?

Azure Site Recovery

An Azure native disaster recovery service. Previously known as Microsoft Azure Hyper-V Recovery Manager.

@Rob Pitcher I apologize for the delayed response!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Failback support for UEFI boot is present for VMware and Physical machines (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/vmware-physical-azure-support-matrix#storage)

Deployment planner missed this. We are working on adding improvements to the Deployment Planner and it is currently on our backlog.
