Suitability

Some advice please. I am researching LOB software for a client, one of the offerings uses RDS to connect to a remote server in Vancouver, (we are in the UK).

My question is: - Do you people think RDS is a suitable protocol for this scenario please?

I’m a fan of RDS and use it on occasion, but is it the right tool for this job?

TIA

Jon

Hello @JonMorgan-1970 ,

1.Would you like to apply LOB software in the remote server?
What's your RDS environment and Windows version?

2.Instead of deploying LOB applications locally, you can install applications on an RD Session Host server and make them as available as RemoteApp programs.
Configuring RemoteApp programs and client connectivity: https://sourcedaddy.com/windows-7/configuring-remoteapp-programs-and-client-connectivity.html

3.My suggestion would be to use TS/RDS or VDI. The users can connect via VPN, log on to a TS/RDS server or log on to a virtual desktop and run the LOB applications.
