How to setup Outlook calendar connection with an application where Outlook does not send invites to attendees for events created from the Application

We are having an application where we connect Outlook calendar to sync events from the Application to Outlook and vice versa. Currently if I create an event in my application, it syncs with Outlook and a new event is created in Outlook. Here, the problem is that my application sends an event invite to all attendees and when the same event is synced into Outlook, it also sends an invite. Can someone let me know how we can have Outlook not to send emails for events created through the sync?

Outlook should be able to send invite only if the event is directly created in Outlook but not when it is synced from an external application.

Can someone let me know how we can have this achieved.

Hi @PulkitChowdry-1626 ,

Welcome to our forum!

Is the application you mentioned is an application you developed or an additional purchase application, or any other application? If this application is self-developed, please contact your developer to see if he can change the script or something else to achieve your expectations. If it is a purchase application, it is suggested that you could try to contact the technical support of that application for some suggestions.

If that application can't be changed, and we can't test this application, the expectation that Outlook should be able to send invite only if the event is directly created in Outlook but not when it is synced from an external application will not be achieved.

According to your description, I noticed that you probably hope that the other's calendar content can be displayed in your outlook calendar without any invitations. If so, based on my experience, using shared calendar in outlook can well display other calendar events in your own calendar. For your reference: Share an Outlook calendar with other people.

Hi @ChristyZhang-MSFT ,

Thanks for your response. We are trying to have this functionality in a self developed application. We can surely have updates made in my application but we are not exactly sure about the changes to be made.

I am not sure if we have an attribute to disable notifications for certain events like notify_participants=false, we are working on different options.

Shared calendar is not an option here as we will have all versions of Outlook being used by different users and when they connect their personal calendar, we need to the events to sync from My application to Outlook and vice-versa but only the Application should be sending the invite emails.

Thanks
