Exchange Access - MDM

Hi All,

I am using Intune trial account, i am looking for exchange on-premises access under tenant administration. It is not there

  • Is that only licensed account will show the exchange On-prem access. Please advice

  • I will disable OWA access for end-user and allow user to use Outlook app alone. Is this possible.

Please advice

Note that the Exchange connector has been deprecated for almost a year now and access to it has been removed from the console. This is covered at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/protect/exchange-connector-install.

For the question 1, to connect to Exchange, you need an account that has an Intune license that the connector can use. You specify the account when you install the connector. Refer: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/protect/exchange-connector-install#intune-exchange-connector-requirements

For question 2, as this issue is more related to Exchange and I am the Intune engineer, it is suggested to create a ticket with Exchange tag so that Exchange engineer can help on this issue. Also, based on my research, to disable the OWA and enable the Outlook, it depends on the version of Exchange and the protocol of the mail. Generally speaking, it is possible to disable OWA, just uncheck the option of features on ECP. Then only an Outlook or Pop3/Imap client will be able to access the server.
