Hallo

I use biztalk 2016 professional, I have two application in the system using file, sftp, ftp,SMTP and SAP adapter. Recently I added two new receive sftp ports in one application (I had already 10-15 of them). After i started these ports all the already existant ports of sftp, ftp and SAP adapters stopped to work their message appearing in the queue of running instances (in the case of sending ports) or not taking the files (in the case of receiving port), only the files adapter ports works well.

Stopping the two ports permit them to restart. The problem seems not related to these two ports, because, stopping two other causal sftp port and restarting the previous two let the system work properly.

So it seems like the total number of sftp ports running at the same moment created the problem. No error is shown in the event viewer, is like the server remained blocks all the processes using complex adapters after i breach "this limit" of sftp ports.

Any idea about the cause of problem?

thanks

As per a blog article I wrote Max worker threads for SFTP, MQSC or DB in BizTalk

    Recommendations for SFTP Receive Locations

    1. Have a dedicated host for receive locations using SFTP
    2. Increase the Maximum Worker threads setting to 500 on that host instance
    3. Check how frequently you poll (the default is 5 seconds), increase the delay if that is not needed.
    4. Put a schedule on to only poll during the periods you need.
    5. Disable message body tracking if it is not needed.
