I'm trying to add Active Directory and DNS Roles/Features:

Brand New Installation of Server 2019 with GUI on a VM, using Parallels.
On my previously created Server VM (on a laptop) worked fine when adding Roles.

All System Updates are completely installed and system restarted.
There's no progress in the progress bar after waiting a long time.103540-serverissue.jpg

I was using Parallels just like one of the linked posters, and when you turn off "Share files with Mac" and "Share Mac files with Windows" then reboot, the roles and features installed successfully.

    Hello @Michael ,

Thank you for your update. And I am very glad that the information is helpful and the problem has been solved.

Now you can turn off "Share files with Mac" and "Share Mac files with Windows" first, and then add Active Directory and DNS Roles/Features.

At last, you can turn off "Share files with Mac" and "Share Mac files with Windows" if needed.

Should you have any question or concern, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,
    Daisy Zhou
