I began setting up my small business infrastructure using Microsoft accounts based on my company's domain, and later added Azure Active Directory.
My work email address is used for both a Microsoft account and an AAD (i.e. a "work or school") account. This causes all sorts of issues as I try using various Microsoft cloud resources. I therefore want to kill off the MS account and retain just the AAD account. I have already copied all the files from my OneDrive for my Microsoft account, so I am ready to kill off that account. However, when I read the page explaining the process to delete a Microsoft account, I saw this:
This has completely thrown me. My understanding was that Microsoft accounts and AAD accounts are separate - that's what's been causing me difficulties. But this implies that they are linked, and that deleting my MS account will also delete my Azure Active Directory. The whole point of this exercise is that I want to delete my MS account and keep my Azure AD.
Can someone explain what Microsoft are talking about here please?
