FSLogix for non- VDI environments

Assuming a customer already has the pre- requisites in place, is there any reason why they couldn't utilize FSLogix in non VDI environments? Say, for instance, they wanted to centrally locate their user profiles for purposes of HA? Would that be supported, again assuming the licensing requirements were satisfied?

Hello @JoshStallings-7132 ,

Yes, FSLogix supports non VDI/ RDS environment.

FSLogix is a set of solutions that enhance, enable, and simplify non-persistent Windows computing environments. FSLogix solutions are appropriate for Virtual environments in both public and private clouds. FSLogix solutions may also be used to create more portable computing sessions when using physical devices.

Hello @JoshStallings-7132 ,

Thanks for your query. Is it about FSLogix High Availability for Non-persistent virtual desktop?

The Azure Virtual Desktop service recommends FSLogix profile containers as a user profile solution. FSLogix is designed to roam profiles in remote computing environments, such as Azure Virtual Desktop.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/fslogix-containers-azure-files

Cloud Cache extends the functionality of FSLogix Profile and Office 365 Containers by seamlessly replicating containers to multiple storage locations for high availability. Furthermore, Cloud Cache reduces read IOPS consumption on file servers by caching containers on local physical or virtual machins.

There are two ways of defining profile locations in the FSLogix world. The first is the traditional path which allows writes to effectively any presented SMB share. The second option is FSLogix Cloud Cache, an emerging capability which promises the holy grail of Active-Active profile locations.

Thank you for your response! My question is about, instead of non-persistent virtual desktop, desktops that are not VDI/ RDS desktops at all. Say a physical or virtual machine with not VDI infrastructure? Could we still use FSLogix to decouple the profile from the machine or would that be unsupported?
