W10-21H1 won't let me keep my files and apps

Hi All,

I am trying to upgrade from 20H2 to 21H1.

I mounted Win10_21H1_English_x64.iso and ran setup. Got past the accept license screen and got the
following:

https://ibb.co/X52q8K3

It does not let me keep my files and apps.

What the heck ???

Edit: my key is a W7 pro key. Is this a "one time" upgrade key?

Hello,

I can't see the screenshot, can you re-upload it. Also, if that 'keep my files and apps' screen goes out quickly, move on and when it goes to 'Ready to install' screen, you can click 'Change what to keep' link.

Hope this helps!

You might have to type it in by hand. I could not figure out how to insert and image.

"'keep my files and apps'" is disabled (greyed out)

Yes I followed the steps in this article and tried to remove KB4562830. There was no option to uninstall it when I clicked on it. And then I tried to install it using the command line, and Windows told me that I can't uninstall it it's required for the operating system. So the only way I can upgrade my computer from 20H2 to 21H1 is if I allow it to delete everything! I'm not open to that option because then I'll have to reinstall every stinking program on my computer again! And so for some programs, if they get deleted. I won't be able to activate them again. So please come up with a solution for this problem.

Thanks,
