Azure not sending alert for Unavailable Heartbeat

So here it goes. I query on my log analytics workspace using this query which does show that there is no available heartbeat since 15 minutes

I have configured an alert logic to send me an email if this happens:

Every data is showing me that this condition is met

I waited for 60 whole minutes and no email was received!!!

@PratyushaMenon-1522

I replicated the query and configured the alert at my end based on the above screenshots. Unfortunately, I was not able to replicate the behavior. I had also configured the Actions.

Just wanted to confirm with you whether you have configured Action as I did not see in the attached screenshots.

Create Action Group :

  • Click on the Manage Action Groups

  • Click on the Create Action Group

  • Give the required Name

Configuring the Email Action

  • You can provide the Notification Type as Email and provide the necessary Email

You can find more information here : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/alerts/action-groups

If you are not receiving the Email even after configuring the Action Groups, you could check the below items :

  1. Confirm the status of the Action Group - It should be in the subscribed status.

  2. Check whether email server and mailbox accepting external emails:
Verify that emails from these three addresses are not blocked:

Hello, Thanks for your response. Yes the action was configured.

Thanks for confirmation. Like discussed in the second part of the answer, if you have confirmed that the alerts are triggered and notification type is subscribed. There are possibilities that the mails are getting filtered or getting to spam box.

For testing purpose & eliminating the filters at the org level mail filters. You can configure the email address for notification to be non-org email account (@outlook.com, @gmail.com) and check in spam box as well.
