Single shared folder not visible at times

We have a user that keeps losing a specific folder from a shared drive.
The user has several folders visible/accessible tied to the user.
But a specific one keeps going away and coming back, totally random and always comes back. (happens 3-6 times a day).
It is only gone for short periods of time.
i have checked the effective acces and it looks the same as on the folders that is always visible.

Hi.

Sorry for late reply.

I will try to get the logs today.

@HannahXiong-MSFT
1. it just appears again (according to the user)
2. yes, i have compared the permissions and its the same, inheretence and all.
3. the drive permission on the server looks ok compared to the folder permissions, and the same for the folders that are visible.

Hi @MrBoll-6463,

Thank you so much for your kindly reply.

Any possibility that DFSN path is used for the mapping drive and there are more than one folder targets?

If not, is there any third-party antivirus software?

Hi @MrBoll-6463,

Thank you so much for posting here.

Have we checked the suggestion provided?

I would like to understand below details to start investigation on this issue.

  1. The specific shared folder keeps going away and coming back. May I know how it will come back?

  2. Did we also compare the share permission between the visible and invisible ones?

  3. Have we also checked the drive permissions and the shared folder permission on the file server?

Thanks and looking forward to your feedback.

Best regards,
Hannah Xiong
