I've tried searching for an answer for this, but I every time I am sent a verification code it is not valid.
I cannot use Teams without this code. Please advise.
I need to use Teams for an important meeting this week.

Welcome to Microsoft QnA forum Peter,
Please elaborate what exactly is the code that you tried to use and how did you try to use it (do you mean posting code in the chat?).
I installed Teams
I logged into my account
It asked for my phone number so it could send me a verification number
I added my phone number
I was then texted a 4 digit code
When I entered this code the login window said it was not valid (as shown below).
I have repeated this process, including uninstalling Teams and starting over without any success.

I should also add, that I'm doing this on my own verified and logged in Windows 10 machine.
I'm on attempt number 5 with zero success.
I've been experiencing the exact same issue since Wednesday this week, and so has a friend at a different workplace.
Trying to install and use Teams for the purpose of job interviews with companies who use it already - so obviously I have no access to their IT support. But this is clearly not an isolated issue, or one connected to a single workplace admin.
Can you offer some support?
Do you have any alternate email id for verification process?
If you are part of an organization, try contacting Admin for Azure AD settings, they might be able to change the password or access the verification code.
I do not, this is for personal use, as stated I need to use Teams for a meeting.
Hi Peter. THIS ISSUE IS NOT FIXED, but I have found a potential workaround for you if you have access to a mobile phone not associated with your Microsoft account.
I've managed to set up a separate, new Microsoft account on my partner's phone, using only the phone number instead of an email address as the login details. Once I'd done this, I was able to log out of my Microsoft account on my computer and log in on this new account to have a normal meeting - the phone number being the User ID in this instance, instead of my email address.
We're still not able to use Teams on any device under our existing Microsoft accounts, so this is just a workaround for your urgent meeting - NOT a resolution to the problem at all.
It is recommended you to use the Microsoft Virtual Agent to help you to contact support to access your Microsoft account.

@PeterSutherland-7857,
Is there any update on this case?
Please feel free to drop us a note if there is any update.
Have a nice day!
I have no update to give.
Only that I uninstalled Teams and did the interview via Zoom.
I do not need access to my account, I have full access to my account, I need the verification serivce to function, which it does not.
@PeterSutherland-7857,
You could try to go to https://account.live.com/names/manage and add your phone number as an alias. It works for some people.
@PeterSutherland-7857,
Do you try this suggestion?
