Hands-on for Azure Learning Paths

Hello,

I've been browsing through courses in Microsoft Learn and I'm planning to get started with Fundamentals level certifications before moving on to associate. It's nice to see that the free training materials available map directly to what are required to prepare for sitting the exams, but I'm not sure if these are just all-video trainings or if they include simulators (or any type of hands-on learning).

I'm more of a learn-by-doing type, so I wanted to throw out a question to those who have already tried the learning paths in Microsoft Learn:

  1. Do these learning path include hands-on (e.g. access to simulators)? If not,

  2. I'm targeting to start off with Azure, and I saw that Microsoft offers Free tier accounts and 12-month trials for certain components of Azure. For Azure Fundamentals, are these all theory or will it involve practical knowledge? Because if it involves practical, I might sign up for at least a free tier just to have some form of hands-on training to complement the theory.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
