"Build your first conversational bot for Microsoft Teams" -> "Run your app locally" -> Error "Permissions needed"

Hello MS,

I am working through the Tutorial on this page:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/get-started/first-app-bot?tabs=vscode

I am in the section "Run your app locally" and am on this step "From Visual Studio Code, press F5 to run your application in debug mode".

I run the code in Debug mode but get a different response to that stated in the insructions. First Visual Code opens a Teams instance in Chrome which is odd as Safari is my default browser. And secondly I get this error "Permissions needed. Ask your IT admin to add helloWorld-local-debug to this team/chat/meeting" (See attached screen shot). But none of the expected prompts, not any buttons such as "Approve App".

Can you advice on how to proceed?

Thanks.

@WrightFlyer,
As we are mainly responsible for general question of Microsoft Teams, your requirement related to app development is not in our scope. I will remove office-teams-windows-itpro tag. Thanks for your understanding.

Hi @WrightFlyer, the error stated that you don't have permissions to install applications into your machine, please ask your it teams to provide admin rights.

Hi Jagadeesh,

Do you mean that I need change the app permissions in my Company's Team's instance (I am the owner). Or do you mean I need to change permissions on my machine (my laptop?)

Thanks.

@WrightFlyer,
It means the app permission in Microsoft Teams admin center. For more details, you could refer to this article.
