SharePoint list permissoin advance.. how to

hi

I have a main list and I like to give permission by department column

is it possible to set permission based on the department and they or the person can only access to view, edit and update the list of their own department records and will not see others department info or the main list info

they are suppose to input new records or edit and update back to the main list for their own department.

Please advise how to set

Hi @sininv-2682

Per my knowledge, SharePoint does not support setting permissions at column level. SharePoint only supports setting unique permissions at least item level.

You can set item-level permission so that users only can view, edit and update their own items.

List settings > Advanced settings > Item-level permission > Select “Read items that were created by the user” > Select “Create items and edit items that were created by the user”.
