MS Teams freezes and doesnt share screen on home wifi

Hi,

My Microsoft teams is not working properly on my work laptop when i am at home on my home wifi.

The video of myself continues to freeze for others on the call and it goes to a black screen when i try to share my screen. sometimes if i share my screen it moves from the black screen and actually shares after around 10 minutes or so but sometimes it doesnt work at all.

It does work a bit better when connected to my personal hotspot through my phones but still has issues.

I have deleted all of my MS Teams Cache and also deleted and reinstalled the app to no avail so far. Any help would be much appreciated.

It seems ok when i connect through my personal hotspot

Hi @ScottHocking-5047

Do you have the same issue in Teams web client?

According to your description, it seems this issue is related to your network environment. To make sure you have an stable network environment, it recommends you try to close irrelevant application to see if it works.

In addition, please check if you have enough bandwidth when sharing screen in Teams client. The following picture shows how Teams uses bandwidth for your reference:

Hi Jimmy,

jumping in here real quick. I have the same issue with my Teams. It only occurs over WiFi, not when I'm plugged into the router directly. The weird thing is that all the other video conferencing apps we use work flawlessly over WiFi (RingCentral, Zoom). Moreover, the only thing that freezes is my side of the calls. The other continue to see and hear me just fine, but on my side it's frozen for about 5 seconds every other minute. I suspect it's bandwith, but all the speed-tests I run come back fine and constant. It's really strange. Btw, I'm way above the required speeds you posted above. It's not even close. I therefore also suspected that it's some weird internal bandwith of my Surface, but I have no idea to be honest.

If it's bandwith related, is there a setting where you can lower the call quality to prevent that?

Thanks for your help.
