Copy DDl from on-premises to Vantage on Azure.

Hi,

Can you help me answering the process to copy down some on-prem DDLs to Teradata Vantage on Azure Cloud. How do I do it?

If there are other approaches please enlist them here, also tell me can Azure Data Factory help me do it, if so help me with some basics.

Hello @AVIRALOJHA-4693 ,
Thanks for the ask and using the Microsoft Q&A platform .
Just to understand the ask better , when you say "DDI" , you mean "DDL" whcih stands for data defination language ? DO you really mean commands like CREATE TABLE , DROP TABLE etc ?

Thanks
Himanshu

Hi Himanshu!
By DDL I mean is Data definition language. I have a college project in which I have been given with a DDL file consisting of multiset and tables. I want to copy them to Vantage on Azure. So is there any client which can help in copying DDL. How would I use Data factory to do so? Can you help me with this.

Hello @AVIRALOJHA-4693 ,,

Thanks for clarifying the ask . I think you need the move the data from in premise to Azure . The below link should help,
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/data-factory/connector-teradata

Also you will have to use Self hosted Integration Runtime (SHIR ) . Please read about the same here .

Please do let me know how it goes .
Thanks
Himanshu

Hey Himanshu,
I am trying to copy tables from a database on Teradata which I have on a VM to an ODBC sink. While creating linked services for the ODBC sink I see "Connection string" required to be input. What is it? How do I find connection string in order to create a linked service for the sink.
