I am trying to create a HDInsight (spark) cluster106258-pic-1.jpg, and getting the error message below. Please advise. I have tried all different region and different node size, and I am getting the same error message.

You have reached your subscription's cores quota limit in East US. Please choose a different region or request billing support to increase your limit for East US.

I have also attached the snapshot of "core usage", and it looks like none is available in any region. This is the first time I am creating a cluster in my account so I have never used any core before. I am using the free subscription, and I still have all $200 credit. Please advise.

Thanks,
Megha Gupta

    Hi @Megha Gupta ,

Unfortunately, you cannot create any HDInsight cluster because it requires more than 8 cores.

The reason behind this is that the Azure Free Trial subscription has a limit of 4 cores, and you cannot create an HDInsight cluster using a Free Trial Subscription.
You need to upgrade to a Pay-As-You-Go subscription to create Azure HDInsight clusters.

    Hello @Megha Gupta ,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A platform.

In additional to @Leon Laude response.

Currently the HDInsight Cluster is not available under the Azure free trial / Student / Pass subscription.

For more details, refer Azure Free Trial - FAQ.

Reason: Azure Free Trail has a limit of 4 cores, and you cannot create HDInsight cluster using a Free Trial Subscription because it requires more than 8 cores.

You need to upgrade to a Pay-As-You-Go subscription to create Azure HDInsight clusters.

Note: Free Trial subscriptions aren't eligible for limit or quota increases. If you have a Free Trial subscription, you can upgrade to a Pay-As-You-Go subscription.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
