App managed certificates no longer support hostnames with dashes

I can no longer create app managed certificates with dashes in the hostname. For example meh-something.domain.com. These used to be supported. Is there another method to create app managed certificates using hostnames with dashes?

Could you please share in which region your apps is deployed.

Thanks. Multiple, but West US is where we are experiencing the issue recently.
