Question about user membership of Teams

Hello, I am assisting an organization that has made extensive use of both public and private Teams. The issue I am running into is that they are going to be making some organization changes and no longer want some teams to be Org-wide but restricted to a specific group of people. However, whenever we go to add new members to the Team, it will only allow us to add Users, not groups, DLs, or O365 Groups as members. I know I can create a team from an existing O365 group but that is a new Team and we want all of the content from the existing Teams to remain, just with a different user list. I also know I can do bulk edits via CSVs and PowerShell, but the issue there is that there are close to 30 Public teams we want to convert. If every time we add a new user to the tenant, we don't want have to manually add this new user to all of the Teams. What am I missing or am I barking up the wrong tree?

The solution here is to use Dynamic membership: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/enterprise-users/groups-create-rule
Either that, or do it manually. There is no way to add a group as a member of a Team/M365 Group, nesting is not supported.

Hi @TcomTech-5210

I also agree with michev's idea. You could create the Dynamic group in your Teams. It enables the membership of a team to defined by one or more rules that check for certain user attributes in Azure Active Directory. Users are automatically added or removed to the correct teams as user attributes change.
