Historical Traffic Flow Data

Hello, I am working on a research project and I am interested in azure maps' historical traffic data. I saw some answers from 2014 that Azure Maps doesn't provide it, but I am not sure if it has changed. If so I would appreciate a link or a quick tutorial on how to request it.

Historical data is used by our route algorithm. Can you clarify what your scenario involves?

Sure, we are simply interested in looking at traffic flow data for the years 2020, 2021, or before in the North Virginia area to track the movement pattern of people on the road. It involves creating a model to track COVID-19 spread, so this information would be one of the ways to show the most concentrated human activity areas. Although there is data through azure maps to request current flow (which I am currently using), I couldn't find the historical data that interests me.

Let me know if I should clarify more.

Hello @dkhamido-1560 ,

Below is the response we received from the product team. I hope this helps with your initial follow-up query.

We do not track the “Movement pattern of People” but one can reach out to the US department of Statistics for things like that.
Historical traffic is about speed of cars on roads at time of day at a location.

Thank you, our research team realizes that. We were wondering how to access the historical traffic data and whether Azure Maps service provides that though. I was just explaining why we are interested in the historical traffic data.
