SCCM Maintenance Window Types

I am trying to troubleshoot an issue with update deployments. On one of the affected machines, the ServiceWindowManager log shows 9 different maintenance windows. 4 are expected but the other 5 are not. When I run the Maintenance Window report against this machine, it comes back with the 4 that should be there. When I query all rows of the v_ServiceWindow view, none of the mystery 5 maintenance windows are listed. All 5 are of Type=6. Where are these coming from? One of them has is 29 hours long and is causing problems. How do I fix this?

Hi,

The Type 6 is USER_DEFINED_SERVICE_WINDOW, which corresponds to non-working hours.
And the type 4 is Software Update Service Window.

For more details, please refer to this article:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/develop/reference/core/clients/sdk/ccm_servicewindow-client-wmi-class?redirectedfrom=MSDN#properties

And when we configure the maintenance windows, the maintenance windows type contains: All deployments, Software updates and Task sequences. They respectively correspond to type1, type4 and type5.

Thank you for the responses. I had seen that table before. I apologize for not being more clear. What I don't understand is what does "USER_DEFINED_SERVICE_WINDOW" mean in this context? Aren't they all user defined?

Here is some more information. I pulled this from the ServiceWindowManager log on the machine in question:

I marked with (==>) the entries from the log file that match one of the maintenance windows we defined. So where are the other 7 entries in the log file coming from? How can I modify or delete these Type=6 maintenance windows?

Thanks for the reply.

My problem is that this server installed updates and rebooted in the middle of the day on 6/20. The maintenance window for the week was defined for 6/23 to download patches at 5:00 PM and start install at 10:30 PM. Bypassing the maintenance window to start installs and/or reboot is NOT selected within the defined deployment. Any idea why this server would ignore the maintenance windows?
