Added Guest cannot see Team in Widows 10 App

Scenario: User has PC that is logged on to with their personal MSA account. Teams is installed and user logs on to their prime M365 Tenant. All OK all works as expected.

The user is invited to be a guest in a team in a different M365 tenant. This invite is sent to the M365 Tenant email address. User accepts the invite but the other tenants team never showing in the app.

Using in-private browsing the Team that the user is a guest member of can be access and functions. Using an iPhone the Teams app show the teams from the users prime tenant and the team that they are a guest of just fine.

Question? What is blocking the Windows 10 app from behaving like the iPhone app?

Thanks in advance.

Michael Currie.

Hi @MichaelCurrie-8634,

Probably, it's a bug.

You could clear the Teams cache and test if it helps.

Quit Microsoft Teams

Navigate to the following location %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams.

Delete all contents.

Restart Microsoft Teams.

If this doesn't help, you could reinstall Microsoft Teams.

Hi MichaelCurrie-8634,

Does someone else have the same issue?

What is your Teams desktop client version?

It recommends you update client to the latest version if it is not.

Thanks both. Useful information. Unfortunately that was not the issue. However I did find the problem. There was a rogue (old) set of credentials tagged to the tenant that I had been given guest access to. I deleted those credentials restarted teams and all worked fine.

Thanks again for the assistance.

I'm having the same problem here and can get in just fine on the webapp.

When I first joined a client account it was through my work version of the same login.

The second clients space I joined I did as a personal (same login).

I removed the first org from my account, but now I can't login to the WIndows App. It'll just ask me to create a new account and join teams and sends me to the login point.

Clearing everything in local->microsoft->teams just broke the install.

Checking the version it says 1.10.63.0 on the update.exe
And 1.4.00.11161 on the Teams.exe file.
