Hi,

Thanks for posting on our forum!

1) Based on your description, I guess your two servers are in a cluster. In this case, when you restart the active one in a two-node cluster, it is normal to view the passive one become active. This is just a failover mechanism. So don't worry it too much unless you encounter something that affects your daily operation.

2) The slow performance for your synchronization problem may be caused by your network configuration rather than your storage configuration, since there was no problem when you created files on primary server and synced them to secondary server. I guess you may use different networks when connecting to your printer scanner. For instance, your two servers may in the same private network while your secondary server and your printer scanner may be in different private networks. In this place, I would like you to tell me more about your network configuration, to check if my assumption is correct.

Thanks for your support! Have a nice day! : )

Joan

Hi Joan,

Thanks for your reply but could you guide me how to configure automatic set active to the first DFS server so when my client logon to server they get active to the first FSO1?

i'm waiting to your reply.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for your patience!

Based on your condition, you can try to manually switch back to Node1 (the first DFS server), or you can set your node1 as a preferred owner for the DFS Server service in a clustered environment. In this way, your cluster service can fail back to the original node (if it is preferred) after an automatic failover.

To set up a preferred owner, you can go to Server Manager>> Features >> Failover Cluster Manager, then expand Services and Applications, right click DFS Server service and select Properties. Click the box in front of your first DFS server and leave the box in front of your second DFS empty. Click OK and you are done! Note that failback only happens if the failover was automatic.

In addition, here is an article to help you better understand preferred owners:

Thanks for your support! By the way, would you please help me Accept Answer? In this way, your case will be put on top of our forum, then the public can get to your case more easily. As a result, people who have a similar issue can get to their solution more quickly. Thanks for your sharing!
