Virtual machine failed to start after physical server restart

Hi all !

My Virtual machine not start after physical server restart. I tried deleting saved status but the problem is not solved. I tried to check the folder containing the virtual machine and discovered that one of the avhd files is as 0 as the image below. That file was the avhd parent of the avhd file before the problem occurred. How do I solve this problem to be able to retain data before something crashes
Thanks all !

Hi,
If the vhdx file is still available, you can try manually merging the avhdx files:
https://www.nakivo.com/hyper-v-backup/merge-hyper-v-snapshots-step-step-guide/
After that, export the vhdx and create another VM with it would bring you back the data.
However, if the vhdx file itself is damaged, then there wouldn’t be anything we can do.

Thanks for your understanding.
Best regards,
Danny

There are some various V2V conversion tools that might work, assuming the guest still starts up. If it doesn't then you may be out of luck unless there are backups available.

Sounds like some sort of file system corruption. If it is still running maybe a V2V tool could work.
