Hi,
We have a GPO that deploys a mapped drive to a share on a file server.
This server is part of a DFA setup, but the mapped drive does not use the DFS namespace, it uses the direct server share name.
We are finding intermittently, that when a user opens an Excel document for example, that is already open by another user, they are not seeing the "File is in use by another user" message.
This results in some weird issues with data loss and conflicting edits.
Even though the mapped drive points directly to the server, is it possible that being part of the DFS setup could be interfering with this?
Thanks
James
