Hello,
We have installed new Toshiba copiers in our company on a Windows print server.
The driver is the one recommended by Toshiba technicians.
Copier sharing points to the server via an IP address (not a name)
ex: \\ 192.168.10.1 \ toshiba1 (not \\ printsrv \ toshiba1). This in order to avoid name resolution
Note: Pinging the print server IP is instant.
Printing works BUT the first impression takes a very long time to get started. Let me explain :
I start printing from Excel or Word or Notepad or printing a test page from the printer itself ..., I will have the hourglass for 30s then after 30s at least printing starts
If I relaunch another impression just after the fist one, it comes out instantly
If I wait a few minutes, I relaunch another print, again it takes time for the print to start
In fact everything happens as if at the time of the first impression, the PC was looking for the server or something like that ...
Does anyone have a lead to point me to in order to determine why this first impression takes so long whereas the following ones are instantaneous?
Thanks for your help
