AD Intrasite Replication

I have been searching for how to configure Intrasite replication among dcs but instead I only see for Intersite Replication. Is there any hand-on or labs on how to configure intrasite replication topology or can I even configure intrasite? If there is, please let me know. Thank you!

Hi,

Hi

Intrasite replication is done automaticly by the system. The system do by default a Intrasite ring, and if you have Intersite from there you can create weight on each site, and the system link those ring to another one depending on your setup.

A good read for that subject; How Active Directory Replication Topology Works and Active Directory Replication Concepts

Thanks

So, technically I cant modify or delete Intrasite connection links between domain controllers. Is that so?
Thank you for your answer Sir.

Hi,

The KCC automatically creates replication connections between DCs within the site.
It is usually not necessary to create manual connections when the KCC is being used to generate automatic connections; if any conditions change, the KCC automatically reconfigures the connections.

Adding manual connections when the KCC is employed can potentially increase replication traffic and conflicts with optimal settings stipulated by KCC.

But you really need to create the connection manually, you can do this through AD site and services as following:

Note that when you modify a connection object, you convert it into an administratively modified connection object and the object appears in the form of a GUID. The KCC does not make changes to manual or modified connection objects.
Following link for your reference:

Actually, I tried deleting and modifying those automatic connections but it keeps reappearing and the new ones I created remains. I thought I could modify the intrasite topology as I want. One more thing I want to ask is that KCC generated topology is best suited for our domain. Isn't it?
Thank you for your time and effort, Sir.

Hi,
Yes, KCC will calculate the most suitable replication topology and will manage the topology automatically if there are some changes for the DC servers.
It is not suggested to created manually, since when you modify a connection object, you convert it into an administratively modified connection object and the object appears in the form of a GUID. The KCC does not make changes to manual or modified connection objects.
