MEMCM & Print Spooler disabled

Hello,

I have a requirement from Security to disable the Print Spooler on all MEMCM Servers. What is the impact?
These are the servers I have in my environment:
- Primary Server
- Management Server
- Software Update Servers (3)
- Reporting Server
- SQL Server
- IBCM Server
- CMG Server
- Distribution Point Server (12)

Where is the Print Spooler mandatory to run?

How to identify the servers really using the Print Spooler? The service is running on all servers but we might have some not using it...

Thanks,
Dom

Hi, @DominiqueDUCHEMIN-4668
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.
This service spools print jobs and handles interaction with the printer. If you turn off this service, you won’t be able to print or see your printers.
I checked some my devices, it seems that the service is running by default. And based on my experience, I believe that disabling the Print Spooler will not have any impact on the MECM servers.

Hello,

But my question is that MEMCM is using reporting features under the Monitoring tab... in the MEMCM Console...
I have a reporting server in MEMCM which is doing only reports....
I saw the service is enabled and running by default...

Does these functions get impacted by disabling the Spooler?

Thanks,
Dom

Hi, @DominiqueDUCHEMIN-4668
I disabled the print spooler service on my reporting server (also primary site server), everything goes well, srsrp.log is working fine.

It seems there is no update for a couple of days. May we know the current status of this question? Is there any other assistance we can provide?

Ssrs does not use the print spooler.
