Why am I asked to sign into Windows store with a Microsoft account, when I am signed in with a corporate account

I am logging into a Hybrid AD joined computer with my domain credentials (synced to Azure).
I am signed into the Windows store using the same credentials.

Every time I try to get a new app, I am asked to sign in.
Why would this be, as I would expect my Hybrid AD/Azure credentials to be enough to enable syncing between devices, and work as I am already signed in?

Cheers
James

Hi,
@JamesEdmonds-7766
Known that you just don’t want to sign in Microsoft Store with your own account every time to download applets, meanwhile your PC has joined in AD/Azure, so perhaps it can share the same credentials.
Actually, to manage volume purchased/subscribed apps from the ‘’Microsoft Store for Business’’,
Require associate your Microsoft Store for Business account with Intune or SCCM. You should contact the IT to apply this setting.

You can find detailed description with Microsoft Intune in the following link for reference
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/windows-store-for-business

Here is the link for reference with detailed usage of SCCM to synchronize Microsoft store for business

Hi,

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand.
We don't make use of Windows Store for Business.

Are you saying that using the Windows Store normally, only works with a Microsoft account, and in order to be able to sign in with an Azure AD or Office365 account, you must be using Windows Store for business?

Many thanks
James

Hi
Thanks for responding so quickly. your clarification is exactly what I meant.
In usual case, we use Microsoft account to sign in windows 10 and open Microsoft Store without extra verification.

In your case, AAD and office365 is a different story, you can find explicit definition in the following link:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-store/microsoft-store-for-business-overview

Hope this can help you
