SharePoint document saving issue

Hello,

We have a document stored in SharePoint online document library with only one field "Title" also not required field. If we open the document in online then we are able to edit and document auto saves without any issue. But, when we open the document in desktop app then a message appearing saying "Required Properties: To save to the server, correct the invalid or missing required properties", even though there are no required field still we supply the values to save the document but it just doesn't save the document instead keep displaying the message with "Retry save". May I know the reason why it is doing that. Appreciate your help!

Thanks,
Alex

@AlexMathew-8833,

When we open the document in desktop app, click File> Info to check if there is any required property with asterisk.

If so, please fill in the property then compare the result.

Hi Julie,

I have tried that. It basically showing red color on one of the property but already contains a value but shows "invalid". It is a plain text field not sure how this property added but I can't modify or delete or anything. It is grayed out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

@AlexMathew-8833,

Try to use the Document Inspector to resolve this. It is used to remove unwanted information:

Here's how:

  1. Click the File button, then click Info.

  2. Click Check for Issues, then click Inspect Document.

  3. In the Document Inspector window, tick the check box for all the options, and then click Inspect.

  4. Once done, it will show the inspection results.

  5. Any found data will include a Remove All button. Click Remove All, and then click Close.
