Where device compliant is calculating?

Hi Team,

I am little confused about device compliance status. Compliant status calculation is done by devices OR intune service?
and if by devices, then how policy parameters pushed to device.

Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

After we create and assign the device compliance policies, the clients receive the policies in the next policy refresh intervals (about every 8 hours by default) or we can manually open the Company Portal app, Settings > Sync to immediately check for policy.

And then the compliance policies are evaluated on the clients, and the result sent to Intune, on the same schedule as policies – which is around every 8th hour.

For more information, please refer to:
How long does it take for devices to get a policy, profile, or app after they are assigned?
Monitor Intune Device compliance policies

In additional, per my experience, as no Intune agent, it uses the MDM interface provided by the operating system to evaluate device state, this is usually through the Company Portal app, but not very sure.

Best regards,
Simon
