Help needed extending partition on SSD

I am currently using 256GB SSD and it filled up so I am trying to clone my primary disk to this 1TB SSD, so I can swap the SSD card.

I have cloned all partitions from the smaller SSD to the bigger one. Now, since I have the bigger SSD I have some unallocated partition left. I tried to extend my basic data partition so that I have larger memory, but when I try to extend the data partition I get this message saying

'The operation you selected will convert the selected basic disk(s) to dynamic disk(s). If you convert the disk(s) to dynamic, you will not be able to start installed operating systems from any volume on the disk(s) (except the current boot volume)'

So, what can I do to use my bigger SSD when I swap the cards out?

My laptop is Lenovo Legion y530 with Windows 10

Instead of cloning consider restoring an image:

1) Make a free backup image of the 256 GB SSD > save to another drive or the cloud

2) Clean install Windows 10 21H1 on the 1 TB SSD

3) Restore the image onto the 1 TB SSD

Hi
@YoungSuh-2038

Before we begin, I want to make sure your aim.
Are you saying you want to extend the disk C, data partition=disk C? Because you said you cloned the origin 256G SSD, does it inherit the same partition size?
If you are, what tools are you using?

Below link includes detailed steps to extend certain partition.

The UEFI partition is the key to load a successful boot. Even if in case it disappears, we have other ways to repair. you don't need to worry much.
Below link includes methods to restore UEFI partition. If by accident, you can take for reference,

Actually, we suggest users do a clean install on the new disk and transfer the origin OS data to new disk C by this official tool https://pcmoverexpressfree.laplink.com/
And copy paste the rest of data in other partitions on 256G SSD to new partitions on your 1TB SDD directly, it's very fast when using a M.2 ssd.
This way is the most time saving and easy with little risk

Hope this can help you
