permissions and privileges to run azdata

All,

In SQLServer 2019 BDC, what permissions/privileges do I need in order to run the set off azdata commands? I'm asking so that I can be in a better position to grant users the necessary privileges.

Hi @GopinathRajee-8127,

I do not fond any MS document that descript the permission about azdata.

azdata – This is a command line tool used primarily for installing and managing a Big Data Cluster.

Suggest you using system administrator account.

Cathyji - Please see the link below. It mentions about "azdata app"

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/big-data-cluster/active-directory-deploy?view=sql-server-ver15

Similarly, if I need to mount a volume or check the status of a volume in HDFS using "azdata bdc hdfs" what permissions are needed?

Thanks,
grajee
