Windows 7 patch for print nightmare (KB5004953) not working

I have been trying to install the Windows 7 patch for print nightmare (KB5004953) to no avail. I followed the suggestion made by @JuanSobrado-3258 to install the latest SSU (4592510) - that worked fine. I then tried to install the patch for print nightmare. I called Microsoft because I have the Answer Desk Assure membership, and I was hoping they could help. I finally got a hold of a rep that was willing to at least try to help. Microsoft told me to first uninstall my internet security (Webroot) before installing the patch, which I did. The patch downloaded and installed, but it would not complete. The computer restarted twice and it shut down each time with the following message: "failure configuring window updates. Reverting changes. Do not turn off your computer." It did this twice, and when it finally restarted and went to my home screen, I checked the updates and it had failed.
I am at a loss. Microsoft told me I might need to update my BIOS. Everything I read about that says "no - don't update the BIOS" - does anyone on here have any suggestions as to why this patch won't install?? Please help! I appreciate any assistance!

Support for Windows 7 came to an end on January 14, 2020 unless you purchase extended security updates.

Hi,
Have you purchased The Extended Security Update (ESU) program?
You can only get this update after purchasing the ESU.

Windows 7 have reached the end of mainstream support and are now in extended support.
If you are installing this update on a device that is running an edition that is not supported for ESU.
This behavior is expected.

You could refer to this known issues in this update here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/july-6-2021-kb5004951-security-only-update-out-of-band-e05a81cd-9b45-4622-b715-ddb2367bca47

So you should verify that you have installed the required updates listed in the How to get this update section before installing this update.

Info about ESU:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/lifecycle/faq/extended-security-updates

Hope above information can help you.

I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium - so not eligible for ESU. Just bummed that there isn't any solution for this patch not working.
