I am trying to understand the working of Password Replication tab of computer objects. I found a description on top that says, "Password for users and computers are permanently stored...." I cannot remember setting a password while creating a computer object. So, what does the 'passwords for computers' in the description mean?

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting here!

The machine account password change is initiated by the computer every 30 days by default .

This value can be modified to a custom value using the following group policy setting in Active Directory.
    Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options
Note: machine account password changes are driven by the CLIENT (computer), and not the AD.

For more information ,you can refer to the following link:

    Best Regards,
