Unable To Install Server 2012 Standard R2 from Server 2008 Standard R2

I am trying to perform a clean install of server 2012 standard R2 from a server 2008 standard R2 OS. The OS is currently running on a supermicro server model: MBD-X9DR7-LN4F-O. I have the ISO on a USB drive and on a CD but both always fail to finish installing. I can boot into the server 2008 OS, start to install the server 2012 OS, it gets as far as "installing windows files. Your computer may restart a couple of times during this process." but after the first reboot it tries to boot from the installation media and fails. It acts like it is going to load then appears with the sad face, blue screen of death. The image disappears so fast that no error code appears. It will then go into a repetitious cycle of non-stop rebooting unless I manually shut it down and/or revert back to the server 2008 OS.

This server currently has no data on it for us to save so I have been told it is ok to format anything on it as it is pretty much a "test" server that we plan to migrate future data to as a backup. At this point I have formatted all RAID configurations and their respective data contents. I have tried running chkdisk and sfc just for the heck of it and nothing seems to help. I even performed another clean install of server 2008 standard R2 but all that did was make some of my drivers go missing to where I can't connect to the internet. This has been an endless struggle for over a week now and I would greatly appreciate any help that anyone has to offer. If you need anymore information from me I would be more than happy to supply it.

Thank you very much!

To perform a clean install you'll need to boot from the install media, delete / recreate partitions and continue the install. Running setup from within 2008 will attempt an in-place upgrade. In-place upgrades are never recommended.

Thank you for your response. When I try to boot from the installation media it doesn't allow me to get to the "install now" screen. When it boots from the USB drive it gives the BSOD before even loading the menu. The CD that I burned with the ISO does the same thing. I can only access the install now option when I load the USB into the current OS.

https://www.windowsservercatalog.com/

It's on the compatibility list for 2012. How would I be able to check if my ROM bios are flashed to the latest and the firmware?

msinfo32.exe

The server manufacturer's site should have the downloads.

Got it. I found the downloads on the manufacturer's site. I'll check and compare the versions and get back to you after I have verified the versions, Thank you.

Actually I double checked the OS compatibility chart and I don't think Server 2012 R2 is compatible with our hardware. Server 2012 is but R2 is not on the list. Here is a screenshot for reference.
