Event ID 1502 and 158 every 2 minutes in system

Hi,

I have a important issue with event log on the client machine. It created every 90 second a event I as following

Event id: 158

Several domain joined computers gets these 2 errors error from time to time every 5 seconds:
The Group Policy settings for the computer were processed successfully. New settings from 11 Group Policy objects were detected and applied.

Then following:

Event id: 1502

The time provider 'VMICTimeProvider' has indicated that the current hardware and operating environment is not supported and has stopped. This behavior is expected for VMICTimeProvider on non-HyperV-guest environments. This may be the expected behavior for the current provider in the current operating environment as well.

Hi MPEG,
It seems that the description and event id don't match.

Anyway, for event 1500 you can refer to this:
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1e55d083-12c4-4456-a43a-98b971337c2a/event-id-1500-every-5-minutes-in-system-log?forum=winserverGP
It is generated when the group policy settings for the computer were processed successfully. You don’t need to do anything with it.

And for event 1502 you can refer to this:
http://www.techrid.com/active-directory/synchronize-the-domain-controller-with-an-external-time-source/

Hi,

for your first link, I am sorry I cannot find any solution and I dont know how I can set the WSUS trigger.

For your second Link, out time server is our Firewall time which is connect to externally time server. I have set it in the registry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters and NtpServer (here is the IP address the time server)

I am not sure if the time server is the issue, because first the client machine get the first event log

The Group Policy settings for the computer were processed successfully. New settings from 11 Group Policy objects were detected and applied.

then come the following event log

The time provider 'VMICTimeProvider' has indicated that the current hardware and operating environment is not supported and has stopped. This behavior is expected for VMICTimeProvider on non-HyperV-guest environments. This may be the expected behavior for the current provider in the current operating environment as well.

Anyway your both Link are not the solution

Hi MPEG,
I did some research but there's not many documents about this issue.
What I can confirm is that for the first event, you can ignore it and there won't be problems.
And for the second one,I‘m not very sure if it helps but maybe you can take a look at this:
https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2213296-event-158-time-service-vmictimeprovider

Personally,to deal with the second issue, you can try disabling the time sync.

Thanks for your understanding.

Danny

I cannot ignore it, because the Monitor is flickering,

Hi MPEG,
This is.....wired. I tried to find similar cases to this one but I failed. For deeper investigation and better solution I would suggest that you try a Microsoft Support ticket. If the issue has been proved as system flaw, the consulting fee would be refund. You may find phone number for your region accordingly from the link below.
Global Customer Service phone numbers:
