New Infra concern about domain conflict

Hello everyone,
I'm still new to Microsoft topics so I hope I can find support here
So currently our infra is simple we have multi servers hosted in hosting company with basic services "DC, AD, Exchange server, firewall, .."
Now we are moving to a different hosting company and to virtualized infra, so I need to build a replica to this infra with the minimum downtime possible but still would like to build the infra from scratch as possible so I can learn along the process.

so my concern is about the DC and the exchange what is the proper way possible to move?
one Idea I have is to build new VMs one DC and the other is exchange and export/import the mailboxes to the new exchange, but what I need your help about is the (internal/external Domain name) now they are the same, can I build the new infra using the same Domain we have (different hosting company + different subnet) or there would be a conflict.

I would appreciate any help since I have no big knowledge around this, and if there is better solutions I would be much thankful If you share them with me or the resources that would be helpful around this.

Hi,

To plan the migration project we can break it down to several steps:

1 Install the new Exchange server
2 Configure the new Exchange server
Client access (Outlook, OWA, mobile devices, etc)
Transport (mail flow)
Mailbox databases
3 Migrate data and services to the new Exchange server
Client access
Transport services
Mailboxes
4 Decommission the old server

Thank you for your reply, Yes I am aware of the need to migrate, but still is it having the 2 DCs with the same Domain "internal/external" but each in a different subnet will cause a conflict?
what again I'm trying to do is to build the same old infra in new environment, so building everything manually with the exact confs and just import/export mailboxes to exchange ok?

Hi,

The two domains will not interfere with each other on the same network. There will be no trust established between them. If you have correctly configured the new environment, point the DNS records to the new server.

Yes, it's Ok. For more information: Mailbox imports and exports in Exchange Server
