Some pictures have been blocked to help prevent the sender from identifying your computer when saving file to network using a 5g phone

Hello everyone,

I have a client who uses the new Apple 12 phone with 5G. When the user sends an email with a picture embedded (not saved as an attachment) using 5G service, the person receiving the email using Outlook 2016 (all the latest patches installed) saves it to a local folder. When they go to that folder they get the message

"Some pictures have been blocked to help prevent the sender from identifying your computer. Open this item to view the pictures"

Yet, using the same phone with nothing else changing, same phone, same computer, same everything, same steps, but with the service switched to LTE the email sent from the IPhone to the same user can be saved and the embedded picture shows up.

Has anyone ever seen this and why is it happening?

Hi @JosephTassone-2633,

I understand your client send a message from Outlook for ios in his iphone and the recipient received and saved the message as a html file, but when you preview it in windows file exploer, it would prompt the error like below, is it right? If so, please first understand here we mainly focus on general issues on Outlook desktop client, we know little about outlook for ios or phone.

I have tried to send message from Outlook for ios in iphone 12 with 5G and 4G network to Outlook 2016 and saved it as html file locally for testing, but I found it would still display the prompt, which seems to I couldn't reproduce your issue. If your client is indeed working with Outlook for ios and need further assistance about it, it's recommended to post it in dedicated outlook for ios forum.

According to my research for this error, I found some similar threads that mentioned it may be related to your windows defender, in this case, it's recommended to save the messages as a .mht file locally to check. Based on my tests, it would display normally on a .mht file. For your reference, here are some relevant threads:
Some pictures have been blocked to help...actually all on my system are being blocked in any browser

Thank you for your attempt to "answer" the question. Unfortunately you did not, and the links that you have sent have nothing to do with the issue.

Please re read the question.

You attempt to reproduce the error will not work or given you the results as I stated. Change your phone to LTE and tell me if you can then and only then save the files without changing ONE thing.

Hi @89152086 ,

Did you save the message as a .html file locally as I mentioned above? If so, the issue may be related to the html and you could follow the suggestions to save it to .mht file to check.

Also, I did test through change the phone from 5G to 4G LTE , send the message from outlook for ios to Outlook 2016 desktop client and save it as a html file without changing one thing, but I found it would display the prompt as I mentioned above. If you don't like the workaround(save it to .mht file), due to here we mainly focus on general issues on Outlook desktop client, consdering it occurred when you change the mobile network, if you still need further assistance on Outlook for ios, it recommended to post it in dedicated outlook for ios forum, thanks for your understanding.
