Teams on M1 Mac not working

I have just downloaded Microsoft Teams app to a new Apple M1 Mac running macOS Big Sur but it doesn't work as expected - many of the icons non the left side of the screen are missing (e.g. Teams, Calls etc)

I have a subscription to office 365 but Teams seems to run in a personal mode rather than a work mode. This makes it difficult to organise meetings as it is necessary to send individual links.

Is there a good reason why Microsoft Teams doesn't seem to work properly on the M1 Apple and is there a fix? I need teams for an international meeting involving ~100 participants ad as it is currently configured I cant see it working in a satisfactory manner

Hi @SNorth-5807

Could you tell me what your subscription it is?

Have you changed another device to see if it has the same issue?

To exclude if this issue is related to Teams client, we firstly recommend you use Teams web client to see if the issue can be reproduced.

Then Please follow these steps to reset MS Teams apps:
- Close Microsoft Teams (Check out if appears in Windows toolbar and close it).
- Copy and paste following path Windows File Explorer:
%appdata%\Microsoft\Teams
- Delete all contents in that folder > Re-start Microsoft Teams.
- Sign in

If the problem still persists then you may ask the IT admin whether they disable team and call icon.

@SNorth-5807

It has been a while, how is everything going?
If you have any update about this issue, please feel free to post back.

@JimmyYang-MSFT I’m also interested in this issue because I’m thinking of using a M1 Mac machine for work and the Microsoft Teams is one of the mandatory applications for my job.
However, your answer didn’t mention anything about M1 Mac. Do you know any plan for releasing M1 native Microsoft Teams app in the near future? Any information would be thankful.
