Remove Recurring Task from To-Do List

I created a recurring task reminder for my coworkers. I am trying to delete it however because I assigned other people (and not myself) I am unable to end the series or make changes. I would like to end it completely for all parties.

Hi @ShamicaDieudonne-7071

Before we go on, could you clarify which application are you using? If the recurring task was created in the Outlook client, based on my test and research, there's no option available to remove it for all recipients. So the users would have to manually delete the task from their To-Do list by themselves.

Hi @YukiSun-MSFT,

I believe I am using the Office Desktop Client application. Is it possible to delete it by signing on through the internet? Or if marking it complete in the Task To-Do list will do anything to the series.
If they click on the task it duplicates and they just want to get ride of the task.

Hi @ShamicaDieudonne-7071

Is it possible to delete it by signing on through the internet? Or if marking it complete in the Task To-Do list will do anything to the series.

To the best of my knowledge, I am afraid this is not feasible. Marking the task as complete doesn't remove it from the task list.

If they click on the task it duplicates

Normally in order to delete a task, we can right click on the task and choose "Delete". Was this how they did? Or you can remove all privacy information and share a screenshot so that we can understand better about the situation.

Hi @YukiSun-MSFT

After speaking with one of the recipients to the task reminder, she said she was able to open up the series on her end to cancel it. I wasn't able to do it on my end. I couldn't find where to open the series on the other users but they haven't complained in a while. I will play it by ear and see if the issue resurfaces.

For the task series on your side, you may have a go at your convenience to see if it's possible to delete it by locating the task in To-Do list, right click it and choose "Delete":
