Any 3rd party software that you can recommend to manage large amount of data - Retension & Clasification

Hi, hoping to piggyback on some of your research. (:
We have large amounts of data at different clients that need to be analysed and classified.
Would be good to auto-create sensitivity labels and retention policies.

Quite a few suggestions from this site but if you have first hand experience as a client of any 3rd party solutions please let me know.

@DanieClaassen-8722,

Any 3rd party software is not supported in Microsoft Q&A.

In Microsoft 365, we could create an auto-labeling policy to apply sensitivity labels when content is already saved (in SharePoint or OneDrive) or emailed (processed by Exchange Online).

In addition, Microsoft could also do auto-applying retention labels to retain or delete content.

For more information, please refer to:

Maybe you can help me with this then.
How do I get a report on what content/data we have in Office 365?
I need to start off with figuring out what we have first...

Some of the limits in O365 is a little concerning.
To auto-tag content for sensitivity, it seems like there is a limit of 100 sites for SharePoint. We have 17 000 sites.
So can you only assign a sensitivity label for auto-tagging to 100 sites?

@DanieClaassen-8722,

There is no such report on all contents you have in Office 365, it's very huge.

Currenlty, we can use pnp powershell in attached txt file to get all documents from one SharePoint Online Site Collection:

118568-documentinventory.txt

Yes, there are currently restrictions on using auto-labeling policies and we could not change it:

  • Maximum of 25,000 automatically labeled files in your tenant per day.

  • Maximum of 10 auto-labeling policies per tenant, each targeting up to 10 sites (SharePoint or OneDrive).

Hi

Thanks for that. I can handle 10 auto label policies. also 25 000 per day.

Can you confirm how this works:
Seems like there is a limit of 100 SharePoint sites for auto label...So I have to select 100 sites max?

@DanieClaassen-8722,

In order to get a better forum experience, we changed your answer to a comment.

As other words, it's true that there is a limit of 100 SharePoint sites for auto label with10 policy*10 sites in each policy per tenant.
