SSMS community v18.9.1 crashes on edit mode

Hi,

I have SSMS v18.9.1 installed on windows10.
When I try to open a table in edit mode, SSMS crashes.

I updated the Visual studio too but it didn't help.

Any idea on how to fix it?

Thanks!

Hi @LeilaJamdar-0871,

Suggest you using the latest version SSMS 18.9.2, you can get it from here. If you have a previous GA version of SSMS 18 installed, installing SSMS 18.9.2 upgrades it to 18.9.2.

Thanks for your response!
I upgraded to version 18.9.2 but it still crahses.

We have two database servers and it doesn't crash on one of the database servers and lets me edit tables but it crashes on the other one.

Any thoughts?

Hi @LeilaJamdar-0871,

Did you found any useful information from event log?

Did you compare the VS version and VS components between the two servers in your environment.

I found an old similar thread, but it says that the bug is resolved from SSMS 18.x. And it works well in my environment.

Table Designer - Fixed a crash in "Edit 200 rows".
