Git completely ruined my project

I was committing something to my Azure DevOps repository, but all of the sudden, my code just got completely ruined with lots of errors and some stuff deleted. i cannot press the "undo" button enough to fix it. Please Help!!

Hi @DanielShepherd-8507 , welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. Did you change something/settings before you committed to Azure DevOps repo? Could you share me some detailed error messages?

/I do know that I had tried to commit to my repository (I am the only one working on it), and I think that I clicked on a file in the tree, and I think I "staged" it. I had saved it, and I looked at my source file, it had numerous errors.

Because reverting the branch did not work because it would not let me pull my commits, I just copied the code from the changes on a branch, and I fixed it. thanks for the help though :D
