SharePoint Extended Header Background Image Cache

SharePoint Online Communication site with Extended Header - the background image appears to cache basically forever, so if the Site Owner changes the image, users of the site never see the change. Can I confirm, what is the timeframe for that cache and is there a way to 'force' users to see a new image when uploaded? Telling 25,000 employees to "Ctrl-F5" isn't as easy as it sounds...

Thanks,
Kevin

Per my test, after the site owner has modified the image of the Extended Header, other users have to refresh the page to see the change.

Per my research, there is no official Microsoft article to declare the timeframe for the cache. Forcing users to see a new uploaded Extended Header image is not available now. Refreshing page is the only way up to now.

Thanks for the answer. That is disappointing as it means you really can’t use that image to communicate anything at all. Nothing seasonal, no diversity months, etc. just a branding element.

@EmilyDu-MSFT We recently found this issue happens in our tenant from time to time. Its not always consistent, sometimes users see the new banner and sometimes they don't and have to clear their cache. Is this a documented known issue with SharePoint that Microsoft it trying to fix and have a schedule when will be corrected?
